Ron Paul questions Ben Bernanke – 11/08/2007 – Hearing of the Joint Economic Committee – The Economic Outlook The best way to I could describe the problems that we face here in this country, as well as the problem that the Federal Reserve faces, is that we’re indeed between a rock and a hard place, because we have a serious problem. We don’t talk much about how we got here. We talk about how we’re going to patch it up. The bubble has been burst. We saw what happened after the NASDAQ bubble burst. We don’t ask how it was created. And then we have a housing bubble, and it’s deflating and then spreading. And yet, nobody says, where does it come from? And what do — what is the advice that you generally get? And that is, inflate the currency. They don’t say, inflate the currency. They don’t say, debase the currency. They don’t say, devalue the currency. They don’t say cheat the people who are saved. They say, lower the interest rate. But they never ask you, and I don’t hear you say too often, the only way I can lower interest rates is I have to create more money. I have to lower the discount rate. I have to make it generous. I have to increase reserves. I have to lower the interest rates and fix the interest rates, overnight rates. And the only way you can do this is by increasing the money supply. And I see this as the problem that we don’t want to talk about. Currently, of course, we can’t follow the money supply with M3, but we can follow one of your statistics, which is

I’m sorry but you can’t win this war. It’s an internal war, so you can just keep taking people’s liberties away.

  2. LeviDanielBarnes says:

Didn’t he just get owned by Bernanke at the end of the video?

  3. majikninja07 says:

are current voting system is a compromised by allowing so many big business interests in government and the American people allowing lobbiest so that voting in general is pointless, the same money pays for all R and D party members to get elected

  4. TheNewVideo says:

No the terrorists are not the politicians in Washington. Although if you compare the terrorist and Democrats, they seem to like each other more than the Republicans. I agree with making Washington mind it’s own business but I do not agree in letting the war on terror just go. It needs to be won first and won to the degree that no more terrorism develops from its reign.

  5. ngonea says:

TheNewVideo – the terrorists are in the WH,Pentagon,CIA,NSA,SD, if you want to fight terrorism stop the economic hitmen from overthrowing others duly elected oficals and make DC mind it’s own biz for America, not for “The Crown” End The Fed!
    throw them all out…

  6. TheNewVideo says:

I like Ron Paul however there are two things I do not like. Terror is bad and should be fought on any front and voting for him as a third party candidate will only split the vote and let the incompetent Democrats win. Why vote then for third party candidates if the result is worse?

I don’t see it any different from ponzy scheme. Our judges need to make an honest verdict.

  8. gearzone2611 says:

Call your congress or petition to abolish the FED. Nope, Washington will not do anything. People should demand change, not wait until they will do some reenactment. In fact, Washing is doing anything but not accordingly to what people has been expecting. So contrary to your belief that Washington must do. They’ve been doing everything, like passing the Economic Stimulus. That does not work, thats how Washington works. Not even thinking what could be the impact to every person and to taxpayers!

  9. oldhacks says:

how do you plan on abolishing the fed? can’t do anything till we get the right to vote on referendums. till then washington can do whatever they want.

  10. gearzone2611 says:

By abolishing the FED! No, Ron Paul is a messenger of what has been envisioned by the founding fathers of America. No, we can educate people. And Im am doing a good job educating people. For your consideration, I believe I am better of handling the economy with the economic stimulus by Obama. Everyone knows we all suffer, corporations has been bailed out already. Why creating more money from outh of thin air thru so called Stimulus Economic Package? When in fact we can reverse this trend fairly!

  11. oldhacks says:

so how are you gonna stop them? by electing ron paul master of the universe? when you ron paullers want to really fight back I suggest you start fighting for a federal referendum.

  12. gearzone2611 says:

We all know by printing more funny money into the system. The dollar loses value. Its simple as that. China and Mexico has dollar reserves. When they lost confidence of the dollar. Well, that might crumble the US economy. Even now, Iran is now bidding on Euro. Its because the dollar is losing value. What this Federal Reserve BS is debasing the dollar. It raise up goods and services, and causes more people to be trapped in unemployment and losses of savings & businesses. Its simple as that; easy!

  13. PatsBlog says:

Yes, I think that is good. It shows that people are waking up. Sure you may feel like you wasted your vote. I believe wasting you vote is when you vote for someone who doesn’t represent your beliefs and values. Good job! Keep informed.

lol There’s a reason a lot of people like Ron Paul. I mean; at times they act like teenage facgirls at theopening of Twilight, but Paul is the most consistent politician that I know of, and he says things that make sense. Not some emotional pandering that makes me feel good, or scares me, but statements of principle and logical consideration. I wrote him in for president…a lot of good it did.

  15. MVCoho says:

Wow, it is so good to hear Ron Paul again. Truth is wildly refreshing.

  16. chugalug2 says:

  17. putittogether says:

Socialist Fascism is a far better way, than freedom, and free markets. Obama is right.

    OBAMA FOREVER!!!

  18. oldhacks says:

he’s all for “free markets” which gives China and mexico the ability to underbid us which is what’s really causing the dollar to fail cuz we don’t produce anymore. All we do is consume.

  19. airborne373 says:

putitogether – You have it reversed. Obama is controlled by the fascist.

  20. putittogether says:

F#$K freedom. Ron Paul is living in the past. The rich get richer, the poor, get poorer. Freedom sucks.

    Fascism ?Now Fascism Forever!!!

    Go OBAMA !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. midwestcharm says:

What’s the M-1? The amount of fiat dollars in circulation. They won’t talk about it.

  22. Justice4all311 says:

you watch one of these days ron paul is gonna get so frustrated he’s gonna hit the chairman with the butt of his musket lol.

  23. swiftysmithuk says:

    Hi oldhacks

Could you elaborate on your question?

I don’t understand how measuring the Consumer Price Index (CPI) against the MZM (measure of the money supply) to gauge inflation constitutes pro-globalisation.

  24. oldhacks says:

CPI’s? so ron paul’s for a global economy?

  25. joes805 says:

    firsT! viva ron paul
